Founded in 1927, the Rotary Club of Arcadia is one of the largest clubs in Rotary District 5300, representing a wide range of local business and professional leaders committed to “Service Above Self.” Part of Rotary International—the world’s first service organization with over 1.2 million members worldwide—Arcadia Rotary meets weekly to build fellowship, support the community, and contribute to humanitarian, educational, and cultural programs both locally and globally. Through service projects, leadership, and support of The Rotary Foundation, the club helps strengthen the Arcadia community while advancing goodwill, ethics, and peace around the world.
Chartered Organization | Rotary Club of Arcadia
This is the organization that partners with Scouting America to deliver the Scouting program. They adopt Scouting as a way to serve the youth in the community.
A chartered organization can be a place of worship, school, or other community group that shares the same interests and values as Scouting America. The relationship with the chartered organization is the cornerstone of the Scouting program.
Institution Head | David Muse
Chartered organizations are structured differently, so the term “Institution Head” is used to describe the person who leads the chartered organization. In a place of worship, it may be a pastor, while in a community group, it may be the organization’s president.
The Institution Head enters into an annual agreement to provide Scouting opportunities to the community and the youth the organization seeks to serve. In most cases, the Institution Head appoints someone to oversee the Scouting program(s) they charter. This position is known as the Chartered Organization Representative.
Chartered Organization Representative | Michael Real
The Chartered Organization Representative serves as the direct contact between the unit (Pack 122) and the Chartered Organization (Rotary Club of Arcadia). This individual is also the organization’s liaison to the District Committee (San Gabriel Valley) and the Local Council (Greater Los Angeles Area).
The Chartered Organization Representative may become a member of the district committee and is a voting member of the council. If the chartered organization sponsors more than one unit, a single representative serves all of them. The Chartered Organization Representative also appoints the Pack Committee Chair, approves all adult leaders and provide resources from the chartered organization.
Annual Charter Agreement
Each year, the local council enters into an agreement with the chartered organization granting it a charter. This charter enables the organization or group to use the Scouting program, under adult leadership it approves, to accomplish its objectives and serve the organization’s youth and families.
